This week is the same add as last week Purchase any 8 Participating products and get $4 OFF! But before I get started I would like to tell you a story about what happen last week.

My wife and I stopped at the Kroger store we shop at to purchase some items that were on sale. The wife handed me the coupons to use and gave me directions as to which items to get. It seems kind of odd to just get a few items but I did as she asked.

After getting the items i was told to get I headed up to cash out. The clerk behind the register looked new but seemed to know what he was doing. After he rang up everything and took the $4 OFF and the coupons the register said he owed me $1.74. Now we as couponers know that Krogers won't pay us the $1.74 and I wasn't really thinking because I was watching the look on the tellers face. He didn't know what to do even when I explained to him that he owed me nothing. But he called over the manager anyways and I was released without paying a dime.

I thought the look on the clerks face was funny because he thought he did something wrong. He thought I had to pay something.

Also the lesson I learned was to add another item like, a candy bar or another 2 liter to cover the $1.74 because it just goes to Kroger's as free money.

Best deals Right know at Krogers!

I went to Kroger's last week with my wife and had to share some information with you. You can get so many great deals when you shop at Kroger's that sometimes I feel like I am stealing the product.

Like for example:

The "I can't believe it's not butter" Cooking and Baking stick we get them for $.07 with a coupon. Go to ebay and buy the coupons!

An item we are getting for FREE is the Welch's Grape Juice(square carton)you'll find in the refrigerated area. Go to ebay and buy the coupons!

Another great deal is the Krusteaz Bakery Style Cookies. With a Coupon we get them for $.19 a box.

Crest tooth paste is another great deal. We use the $1 off one coupon on the 2 for $5 sale. We get both tubes for $.50 ea. but you have to use the $1 off coupon.

Why don't more people see this? I have learned that most people would rather pay the original price than to cut out coupons. I look at coupons as Free Money! Get more groceries for our money so we can save more money to do the thing we like to do.

It is a lot of work but it is well worth the effort.

It has been a long time since I paid under $2 on a gallon of gas . How? Well, if you live in an area where the unemployment rate is up 15%, businesses moving out or closing because there's not enough business, you learn to save money where you can. If you live in Michigan then you know what I am talking about.

We do most of our shopping at Krogers so we can, not only save on groceries but also save money on gas. Every time we shop at Krogers we rack up points towards our saving on 4 fill-ups a month. Last month we racked up enough points to save .50 a gallon for this month so, last night my wife and I saved money on gas by only paying $1.87 a gallon.

Yeah, I'm bragging but it's all good! It makes me feel good that we can still get through the tuff times. When I see people fill-up their tanks at $2.37 a gallon I just want to stop and tell them how they can save money by shopping at Krogers.

Kroger's grocery savings for tonight was over 70% percent. GREAT SAVINGS!

It makes me feel good when we can go and spent $30 on $100 worth of groceries saving me money. I have noticed that I get 70% more food with the same budget I was using before.

Before we went shopping we saved on .50 a gallon on gas. While every one else spent $2.65 a gallon we spent $2.15. I filled up for only $26.

Okay I have been doing coupons for about a month now and have been saving like crazy. But savings comes with organizing coupons so you don't spend hours in the grocery store. I am going to show you how to organize your coupons so that the product are easy to find in the store.

The first thing you want to get is a 3-ring binder. You don't have to go out and buy an expensive one just one that has inside pockets. The pockets are used when you are shopping and come a cross a coupon you are going to use you can slip it in the pocket for easy to find when you get to the check out. I recommend getting the one with the zipper. It may be a little pricey but it will keep your coupons from falling out of the pockets.

How do I protect myself from scams?

Unfortunately, there's always a chance that a company could renege or be running a false offer. The main reason a company wants you to sign up to get their free offer is so they can get your contact information. Once they get that, they will often start sending you email or spam. To prevent that, you should NEVER USE your primary personal or work email address. Instead, sign up for a free email from GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo, or one of the many others offered.

Should Minimum Wages Be Raised?

Look, I am not going to argue about how bad our economy sucks, but do we really need to raise the minimum wages limit? I was driving to work this morning listening to the radio about should we or shouldn't we raise the minimum wage limit. It pissed me off when one of the DJ's said that we should raise it to get families out of the poverty level. I disagreed with him because minimum wage is not suppose to be long term means income. It's a starter wage for young people who still live at home.

The DJ had a caller who called in to give her opinion and she believes minimum wages should be raised to $10 hr. Are you kidding me? I have a BAS degree in a profession and the starting wage is $9 hr. that would be putting them above me. I think that is bullsh*t! It would really bug me if I knew someone who is working beside me in a minimum wage position is making more money then I when I have a BAS. If the minimum wages go up then the starting wages for jobs that require a degree should go up too.

I don't know the solution but raising minimum wages is not a god idea. If you need more money then go back to school and get a degree in some kind of specialty. I started at minimum wage when I was in security. But I didn't stay there because I had the desire to succeed. Now I make twice that much, Yeah it took me awhile to get where I am today but I did it. I found that looking for government handouts wasn't going to do me any good and neither should you.

One of the many challenges men have is to decide on what positions to use when getting booty. The biggest fears are that the woman will get bored with the "same old, same old" and as a result lose interest in sex. So the question becomes, what are the best sexual positions?

The best way to explain this is to talk about what NOT to do. With that in mind, I'll now talk about the top five mistakes guys make when it comes to sexual positions, so that way you won't continue making them.

Position Mistake 1: Imitating anything seen in a porn movie. This is probably the biggest reason that guys fail with sexual positions. Inexperienced guys think porn is a good model because they see studs banging beautiful broads, and… well, they just don't know any better. The problem is that sexual positions in those sorts of movies are meant to display a good scene for viewers, not to maximize pleasure for the actors.

And in fact, one of the WORST positions for clitoral and vaginal stimulation is when the woman puts her ankles on your shoulders. With her pelvis bent back that far, she can feel pain in her cervix if you push in too far. Plus it's a position that puts pressure. (If you ever have a chance to go behind the scenes and watch the making of an adult movie, you'll see how quickly the mood gets killed when the actress keeps having to stop the scene to go to the bathroom!)

Position Mistake 3: Letting the woman do all the work when she's on top. For virtually every woman, sex is mostly a passive activity. So by being the motionless beta male, you destroy the whole purpose of sex for her, which is to open herself up to you penetrating into her body.

Position Mistake 4: Being a wimp. A lot of guys have read too many "Men are From Mars"-type books and think women like it if you ask permission for everything and let them take the lead. Be the alpha male instead and just "do it." Flip her over, move her here and there. Be aggressive and even toss her about like a rag doll when you want to change positions, and... she'll LOVE it! And don't worry about it. If something is going on that the woman doesn't like, she'll let you know.

Position Mistake 5: Thinking the trickier positions are better. You don't need to be upside down, hanging from a lamp, and doing something crazy. Just be normal. An old standby like the missionary (man on top, woman lying on her back) can be the best sexual position.

Tricky positions are just frustrating for everybody and often kill the mood because there's too much "where should I put my arm?"... and not enough "let's just have fun exploring."

One of the canceled acts included a dance routine of Britney Spears with ex-fiancés and husbands Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline flashing on the screen in the back. Incidentally reports of another cancellation of a duet between Justin Timberlake and Britney. “Totally, patently false,” an insider reported to In Touch.

K-Fed on the “One Tree Hill” as a Rock Star

Kevin Federline has on his part been reportedly busy and perfecting on his role as a responsible adult. He surely has been lately winning the Mr. Nice guy praises from episodes of “One Tree Hill”, reported the US. “People know a more bombastic version of him, but he seemed very humble and sweet to me-hardworking and well intentioned,” producer Mark Schwann told the magazine. Ah the age old question – “what do women look for in men?”

Well, I’m not here to go over all those things, but I do want to touch on some on the basic things that you have control over. Let’s start with appearance.

Now as I have mentioned in the past – even unattractive guys can score with hot girls. The way you carry yourself and your attitude in general plays a big enough role in the game of attraction that looks are not the only thing that matters.

However girls like guys that take care of themselves. They notice a lot of things that guys do not pay a lot of attention to. They look at what you are wearing, your shoes, your belt, your hairstyle etc. They may not make their judgment based only on that – in fact I know they don’t – but if it still enters their mind does it not make sense to make an effort in those categories?

It amazes me how many guys come to me asking me for advice on approaching girls or on different areas of seduction when they have not even covered some of the most basic areas. I hate to sound harsh, but many of the guys that come to me look sloppy, dirty and completely out of touch with fashion.

You do not need to be decked out in brand new Armani suits or the latest fashion trends. But you do need to have a sense of style. There are plenty of websites that offer fashion advice for men. http://men.style.com/ and [http://www.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip/index.html ]www.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip/index.html are two options that have some useful info.

Know the basics. What is in or out? What colors work together? And yes, some of this stuff costs money. But you don’t have to spend a fortune. Check out ebay for some heavily discounted clothing. There are all the brand names you can buy (many are fake – but look identical) to help your look.

Also look for sales. They aren’t hard to find. Buy a great pair of shoes. Buy a wicked belt. And if you are not able to afford all this stuff, build your wardrobe gradually. In the meantime make sure you look coordinated.

Continual improvement. That is what I am hoping you strive for. And it extends to more areas than just what you wear.

Go to a fancy salon and ask what is in style when it comes to hair. They know what they are doing and can choose something to go with your hair texture and type that will energize your look.

I always advocate going to the gym. I realize not everyone is a fan of this idea. Many people are too busy. Many people don’t have the facilities. Most people are just too lazy.

But exercise makes a HUGE difference. It motivates you like you wouldn’t believe and gives you a brand new confidence in yourself. This can do wonders with the ladies. Not to mention losing a few pounds and developing a fit physique never hurts either.

All of these things are easy to do. I always look at ways of improving little things about my appearance. My bathroom is full of skin and hair products. My closet is full of clothes. Some guys think that makes them less of a man. I see that as just an excuse. If it helps you get more GIRLS, how are you less of a man?

The idea of continual improvement extends to much more than your appearance. I will touch on that in another article. For now I will leave you with a list of small things you can do to make sure you are looking your best. I don’t expect you to do everything on this list right away, but hopefully you see the value in always looking for ways to improve in that category. Here you go:

- Exercise

- Visit a salon for a fashionable haircut

- Dress well – search the net for fashion advice if need be

- Keep your nails well trimmed

- Shave regularly

- Trim nose and ear hair

- Wear cologne

- Have good oral hygiene – Brush, Floss and use a tongue scraper

- Shower before you go out

- Make sure foot odor is not an issue – clean your socks, shoes and feet regularly!

Again, I hate sounding harsh, but I know this stuff will help with the ladies! And that’s why you are here right!?

Getting a Second Opinion

Can doctors be trusted? Some doctors know more about our bodies then we do. But doctors are not super humans! They make mistakes just as much as anyone else so, it is best to get a second opinion. I should know I became a victim of being misdiagnosed but thanks to my wife, for being a medical assistant, we got a second opinion.

It all started when I began having abdominal pains. The pain I was experiencing was mild. It felt as if I was having a bad case of gas but was present every day. The reason I didn’t go see the doctor sooner is because I was getting use to the pain. I told my wife a few times of the pain but we both just brushed it off as a mild flu bug. It wasn’t until I had a few really bad attacks that we realized something wasn’t right.

The first attack occurred at a wild game dinner. Every year I go to a wild game dinner at my father-in-laws church. They serve all kinds of meat and one of my favorites is the BBQ Coon. On one particular year I invited my dad to join me and two of his grandsons to a fabulous feast. I was fine when we first arrived but after the dinner I began having severe abdominal pain. It felt as if I was coming down with a really bad case of the flu. I told my dad we had to go because I was not feeling good. When I got home the pain had gotten so bad that I just went to bed. The next day I was fine. For about two weeks I was having those mild pains I explained earlier. But again I brushed it off as being an after effect of the flu like symptoms. At the end of the second week I asked my dad to come over and try my grilled fish. After eating the fish I had another attack. But it wasn’t until the third week when I had another attack I decided it was time to see a doctor.

After sleeping my whole Friday away and not remembering a thing I awoke on Saturday with the pain shifting to my right side. I explained to my wife I felt fine but she suggested I see a doctor because it may be my appendix. Instead of going to my doctor I went to an after hours clinic. The doctor examined me and said I was having upper gastritis and urinary tract infection. With disbelief my wife decided to get a second opinion. The second doctor listen to my story, took some blood work to be tested. When he returned he said my white blood cell count was normal but the story I gave made him question whether I was having an appendicitis attack. But he wanted a second opinion so he sent me to the hospital to another doctor who specializes in appendicitis. After having more test done the doctor said I was going into surgery immediately because I had appendicitis.

After the surgery the doctor told me my appendix had ruptured and was stuck to my abdominal wall which kept it from leaking. If I would’ve waited another day he would have had to open me up to clean my insides or I may have died.

Having a second opinion doesn’t hurt even though you may trust your own doctor’s opinion. I had to see three doctors before I was diagnosed with appendicitis.

The Judicial System on Alcoholic Punishments

What’s up with our Judicial System? My wife and I started on a conversation about the punishments the Judicial System hands out when it comes to alcohol offenders. It began after hearing about a woman getting convicted of contributing to minors. The announcer on the radio said the judge threw the book at the women by sentencing her to 8 years in prison. But the judge reduced the sentence to 2 years. The problem my wife and I have is that if the Judicial System is going to throw the book they need to be consistent and throw the book at all offenders. Look at Paris Hilton a celebrity who broke the law by drinking and driving. Her license was suspended and later was caught driving on that suspended license. She signed an agreement that she would not drive and again was caught on the suspended license. Now, Miss Hilton was only sentence, what 42 days I think that is bull.

We are not saying we condone the woman’s action just that if our Judicial System is going to hand out punishments it should be the same for everyone. Don’t you agree?

How to Stop Sabotaging Your Diet

The greatest problem with a weight-loss program, which you have chosen to follow meticulously at the outset, is that temptations try and sabotage it. The truth is, more often than not, you will not be able to resist them. The secret behind their success and your failure is that they infiltrate into your subconscious little by little, until you realize that you have actually dumped your diet for good. If you think giving in to a minor temptation now and then will do your diet no harm, you may be wrong. In the long run, these small deviations might become more frequent, without your knowledge.

A few tips may help you keep you on track:

#1. MONITOR YOUR PROGRESS

For this, you have to maintain a record of what you eat and what activities you do, on a day-to-day basis. Note down any deviations on a particular occasion, in red or in bold letters. That way, you know how frequent your slip ups are.

An occasional minor lapse need not leave you with a guilty feeling. Remember not to choose a diet that does not allow any concessions at all in the schedule.

#2. HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ABOUT YOUR DIET

Do not treat your diet as a temporary program, unless you think you can reach your target weight in a short time and you are confident of staying at that level. In concrete terms, do not aim at losing 50 pounds in five weeks, although you have to lose 50 pounds to reach your ideal weight. Work for losing a pound a week. It may take long, but you are going to be on your way to good health.

#4. DIVERT YOUR ATTENTION FROM FOOD TO PEOPLE AND ACTIVITIES

Spend time with the people important in your life. Taking more interest in their well being, their activities and trying to make them happier will keep you satisfied with yourself. Take up some hobby that interests you. Get so immersed in it that you find little time to think about eating junk food.

#5. AVOID SWEETENED FOODS & ALCOHOL

Several soft drinks, lemonade, cookies, jams, jellies, breads and other baked goods contain high-fructose corn syrup that sweetens them. Avoid them, if you want to your diet work. Also avoid alcohol for the same reason. They sabotage your diet, like no other thing.

However, again, an occasional drink will do you no harm.

Renting-to-Own vs. Credit Cards

One of the most controversial conversations I have with others is whether renting-to-own is a better choice then using a credit card when purchasing a product. I am a true believer in renting-to-own. But in my own opinion both have their advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage of renting-to-own is the option of returning or replacing a product if damaged. I have been renting-to-own from RAC (Rent-A-Center) for many years. Every item I have purchased from RAC I have paid off but during the renting period I have been able to return or replace the product. For example I have been paying on a laptop for a few years now and I’ve had to replace the battery pack once and the battery charger once. I have about a year left on the contract so I may upgrade the unit before it’s paid off. With a credit card you are stuck with the product even if it is unfixable.

Another advantage is building credit instead of hurting credit. We can all agree that certain events happen in our lives that could hurt someone’s credit such as lost of job, being laid off or even getting injured. So, let’s say that in the next 3 months a series of events occurs prohibiting me to pay the rent of my laptop. If I’ve paid my payments in those 3 months in the 4th month I can return the laptop without it affecting my credit or adding interest rates that occurs with a credit card. With a credit card you still have to pay the bill and also worry about those annoying debt collectors who don’t care about your problems.

Now, the disadvantage of renting-to-own is paying almost double of the original price than if bought with a credit card. Usually when renting the payments are broke down weekly and by the time the item is paid off it would’ve cost more than if the item was bought at a store. But this won’t happen if an early payout occurs. Early payouts will help lower the cost of an item.

Renting-to-own is also limited on products. Usually the items found at RAC or at any other rent-a-center are computers, living room, and kitchen or bedroom furniture. I have yet to find a rent-to-own place with things like lawn mowers.

I see nothing wrong with renting-to-own other than a few minor disadvantages. I say rent-to-own if you have issues with your credit. If you hate debt collectors then renting-to-own can be non-stressful. But please don’t knock it until you try it.

Remedy for Inflammation

One of the major causes of arthritis and cancer is inflammation. Inflammation is a basic way in which the body reacts to infection, irritation or other injury, the key feature being redness, warmth, swelling and pain. Inflammation is now recognized as a type of nonspecific immune response.

To treat inflammation doctors suggest the use of NSAIDs Nonsterodial Antiinflammation Drugs. But the problem with this is that NSAIDS have a number of side effects. The frequency of side effects varies between the drugs. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, rash, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. NSAIDs may also cause fluid retention, leading to edema. The most serious side effects are kidney failure, liver failure, ulcers and prolonged bleeding after an injury or surgery. Some individuals are allergic to NSAIDs and may develop shortness of breath when an NSAID is administered. People with asthma are at a higher risk for experiencing serious allergic reaction to NSAIDs. Individuals with a serious allergy to one NSAID are likely to experience a similar reaction to a different NSAID. Use of aspirin in children and teenagers with chicken pox or influenza has been associated with the development of Reye's syndrome. Therefore, aspirin and nonaspirin salicylates (e.g. salsalate) should not be used in children and teenagers with suspected or confirmed chicken pox or influenza.

Now if there was a remedy for inflammation without all the side effects and allergic reactions wouldn’t you want to know about it? I am not a doctor or a scientist but an individual who has experienced lower back pain due to inflammation. I have found such a remedy that does not cure but helps treat inflammation. At least it has for me!

More than Enough!

Since the day we were born our minds have been programmed to think that the only way to make a living is to work until you retire. The other day I was sitting reading a book called “The Secret” and learned some interesting facts I would like to share. If you haven’t read the book I think you should because it will open your eyes to a whole new world of living life. First, living is not all about working and making money. There is plenty enough money in this world for all of us we just have to know how to ask. Most the time we are so rapped up in trying to make money that we forget what life is all about. If we would just learn to relax and enjoy life as it is and be grateful for what we have, having wealth and prosperity would come natural. I am learning this right now myself!

I didn’t know I was already practicing the Law of Attraction mentioned in “The Secret”. About 12 years ago I told my wife that I have a few goals I am going to accomplish. First, get an Associates Degree. Second, I would like to be in a job making at least $30,000 a year before I turned forty. Well guess what I have done just what I said I was going to do and more. I had my Associates Degree by 2002 and I am now going to graduate in the fall of 2007 with a Bachelors Degree. I am 38 years old and I make $33,000 a year. Now that the Law of Attraction has been confirmed, in my on life, I have made bigger goals that will be accomplished in a much shorter time span.

You will never know what the Universe has in store for you until you start planting seeds, making goals and watch them unfold before your very own eyes. “Plant a seed today to succeed tomorrow”!

Blue vs. Red

Who’s right and who’s wrong? I don’t believe any one is right or wrong just different opinions. Both sides are so locked into their own opinions to the point where nobody wants to budge on their issues. Before I go any further with this issue I would like to point out that I usually fall on the Republican side. But there are issues where I am split down the middle and I will only discuss one since it is the reason I am writing this blog.

The other day I called my mother in Florida to ask if she had my military picture. I needed it for a drawing project in my art class. We talked on the phone for about an hour laughing, joking and having fun. But a political statement I made upset her to the point she was getting mad and throwing bible scriptures at me. What did I do wrong? First thing, I should not have discussed politics with her. But she wanted to know so I told her. I usually vote Republican but there are issues where I am slit down the middle. “Explain”, she asked. So, I talked about Pro-life and Pro-choice.

This is how I explained it to her. I believe in pro-life and I believe in pro-choice. I don’t feel the government should be involved in the woman’s decision because each case is different. First, If a teenage girl decides not to practice safe sex and gets pregnant then I would say she should deal with the chose she made. Now, if a woman, whether she is a teen or a full grown woman, is raped then I feel she should be able to make her own decision. I don’t think God is going to condemn her because she chose not to have the baby. At this point my mom about blew her top. She said, “Thou shalt not kill, God wanted that baby to live”. I then told her, “I understand thou shalt not kill, but I also believe God didn’t put the woman in that situation just to bring a baby in this world either”. If that is the case then where’s this so called gift of free will God has given to mankind? God is not the kind of God that goes around making lives miserable just to put a child in this world.

After about 5 minutes my mother was ready to get off the phone because she didn’t want to hear her son’s beliefs. But she asked and I explain. My motto is, “Don’t ask if you are not prepared to except the answer”!

I believe God is a good God and I know this is in the bible too, “Don’t judge unless ye be judged”. Jesus died on the cross so that we may choose “FREE WILL” to be for God or against God. Before anyone can go around judging others you had better make sure you are without sin too.

Millionaire Want-A-Bees

You want to be a millionaire, don’t you? Well, so does a billion other people! You’re probably thinking, I will never be a millionaire unless I win the lottery and you are probably right. But, to tell you the truth, thinking negatively will get you no where. You and only you have control of your own destiny. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you want to dwell in your current state or take control of what is yours. Ask yourself, am I going be a millionaire sitting on this couch complaining? No body has ever become a millionaire by being a couch potato. Let me share with you my own experience of success. I am going to tell you I am not a millionaire but I am wealthy.

In 1994 I had just came out of the military with a wife who was 9 months pregnant and a 2 year old with no place to live. In fact we lived with my in-laws for a few months and my dad was losing his house but said we could stay at the house until the bank takes it back. My wife and I struggled for months because we hade no place to go and I was afraid we were going to be put on the streets. This is the thing I didn’t sit around and wait for something to happen. I got off my butt and I found a job that paid $7.00 hour and we move into 3 bedroom trailer that I bought for $5000. But the $7.00 hour job was not helping pay the bills. My wife couldn’t work because she was taking care of the babies so we had to get on welfare to pay our bills. It got so bad one year we almost had no Christmas but God was watching over us. About a month before Christmas we received a knock on our door. An older couple whom I had never met handed me an envelope said Merry Christmas and walked away. Till this day I don’t know who these people where. I open the envelope and pulled out a $300 dollar gift certificate to Meijer for food, toys and clothes. At that moment I broke down in tears and thanked God for the gift. From that moment on I knew I had to do something with my life. I talked to my wife about going to school and she supported the decision so I started at a Community College.

It is now 2007 and my wife and I make double income and I am about to graduate from a University with a BAS. I may not be a millionaire but I can say this I got off my butt and took control of my own destiny and you can do the same. I want to have millions so bad I can taste it but the difference between you and me, I want it more than you. I am willing to make sacrifices to get what belongs to me. How bad do you want it? Think about it, you don’t have to live the way your living. Don’t live in the past, but embrace the future and build a lifestyle of your dreams. You can do it you just have to believe in yourself and be grateful for ever thing that comes your way.

On every step of your success remember this phrase “Plant a seed today to succeed tomorrow” and every day be grateful for what you have and you will see things happen beyond your wildest dreams.

Children and Guns

Okay! I have been told I am too harsh I my children because of my issues with guns. I am not against guns let's just get that out right now. My problem is with children playing with play guns and pretending to shoot each other.

I guess my values changed when I was in the service. I believe children have to understand guns are not toys. I grew up with playing cowboys and Indians but in todays society kids are killing at a very young age. I do'nt let my kids play with play with play guns in my house. I teach my kids that going around pretending to kill another person is not fun. Kids need to understand that once they pull that trigger that person may or may not live.

When I was in the military I was taught and trained to kill so to put a play gun in a child's hand is like teaching and training his mind that killing is okay. But then I am no better than the next parent because I let them play army games that could also teach them to kill. So, where do we as parents draw the line.

Self Parenting

Have you ever heard the phrase "your children become you"? Stop for a minute and think about what you do in your every day life around your kids. How you act, what you say and how you respond to their problems. Your personality will be reflected on your children. If you don’t think so step back and watch how your children act and then evaluate yourself. What you will find is that your children will do, say, and act just like you. I have seen it first hand. My fourteen year old is an exact duplicate of me. (Monkey see, monkey do. Monkey gets in trouble too)

For example; I know this is going to sound bad but at times, like any other parent; I like to turn off the word dad. If it is mentioned or called I tune it out. Well, one day at a family reunion I called my eldest son about 15 times until he finally answered me. It made me furious with him because I felt he was ignoring me. I began to complain about it and my wife said he gets it from me. I didn’t want to believe it but she was right. He doesn’t do it intentionally he has learned to turn me off like I do him. I have also notice that he and his brothers ignore one another even when they are sitting next to each other. So, yes I am learning not to ignore my children.

Another example is procrastination. I am a huge procrastinator when it comes to house work or anything that has to do with hard labor. Well, I had a huge argument with my fourteen year old about mowing the lawn. It did not get done for like two weeks and before we knew it the grass was ankle deep. I shouldn’t have yelled at him he is learning to be a procrastinator like his parents.

I am not an expert in parenting but if we learn to parent ourselves then parenting our children would become a lot easier.
